Mountain Skiers

The behaviour of people in different life situations is what interests me the most.

With this painting, I wanted to portay a collection of behaviours that are common in a sport situation like skiing. Cheering, speeding up, slowing down...more specifically, I wanted to use sport as an excuse to show our clumsiness and dignify what is common to all of us: the fact that we try our best but we keep falling.

Therefore, why is falling somenthing that we cannot celebrate?
We are never as humans, as when we fall.

Turning the act of "falling" into an art, for example by making an angel in the snow, can therefore be read as a celebration of our humanity.
Getting up and starting again can then just be a successfull continuation of this exercise.
Let's cheer then!
